Not all gear is as good as it looks!
Interested in honing your trad climbing skills? Whether you've learned gear placement from friends and feel you have knowledge gaps, maybe need a refresher or aim to move from sport climbing to trad - this workshop is for you!
In this workshop, we cover the range of trad gear commonly found on UK trad racks, alongside some less obvious additions.
Throughout the day, we focus on hands-on learning, demonstrating how to find, place, and assess each piece of gear. We have open discussions at every stage, ensuring participants feel happy to ask questions and refine their techniques.
Furthermore, we delve into gear rating systems, experimenting with various approaches to find what suits each individual. Through practical exercises and ground-level testing, participants gain confidence in their ability to assess gear placement effectively, fostering trust in their skills.
As the day progresses, we delve into anchor building techniques, bridging the gap between gear assessment and anchor construction.
