Interested in honing your trad climbing skills? Whether you've learned gear placement from friends or family, harbor concerns about your trad gear placement, or aim to transition from sport climbing to trad, this workshop is tailored just for you!

Many climbers acquire their trad climbing skills through informal channels, leading to occasional gaps in knowledge or confidence issues. In this session, we cover the spectrum of trad gear commonly found on UK trad racks, alongside some lesser-known additions.

Throughout the day, we focus on hands-on learning, demonstrating how to find, place, and assess each piece of gear. We encourage open discussions at every stage, ensuring participants feel empowered to ask questions and refine their techniques.

Furthermore, we delve into gear rating systems, experimenting with various approaches to find what suits each individual. Through practical exercises and ground-level testing, participants gain confidence in their ability to assess gear placement effectively, fostering trust in their skills.

As the day progresses, we delve into anchor building techniques, bridging the gap between gear assessment and anchor construction.

Join us at Cleeve, conveniently situated just a 20-minute drive from Bristol via the A370. Ample free parking is available, with lift-sharing options if required.
